The Team You Will Be Joining
- The state of Texas government agency that regulates the alcoholic beverage industry in Texas, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations regarding the manufacturing, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages. It oversees licensing, enforcement, and education to promote public safety and responsible alcohol consumption.
- Perform moderately complex chemical analysis work
- Coordinate and conduct chemical analysis and physical testing
- Conduct research studies
- Prepare technical reports of test results
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in chemistry or related field
- Preferably 1-2 years of progressively responsible experience as a chemist
- Skill in the operation of laboratory equipment and computer software
- Experience with laboratory instruments such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, high-pressure liquid chromatography, and more
- Proficiency in preparing accurate written reports and using Microsoft Office and Adobe Pro
- Ability to conduct physical and chemical analyses, interpret test results, and communicate effectively
- Rate: $28.00 per hour.
- Length of engagement: 8/31/24 with potential to convert to Permanent (FTE) employment with the State.
- Days/Hours: Part time; flexible on the days but work hours may vary and will be between m-f (8am-5pm).
- Location: Austin, TX (78731).
