Utilizes established methods and procedures and laboratory equipment to perform analytical testing of substances. Being a Chemist prepares compounds, reagents and solutions. Develop and write technical reports of testing results. Additionally, Chemist requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Job Details:SUMMARY: Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction to several analytical, microbiological, or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precision and accuracy in performance of the work instructions and data collection is essential; must be able to maintain ISO records for process control and comply with quality system and safety requirements.1st shift position hours: 7am-4pm2nd shift position hours: 3pm-11:30pmREQUIREMENTS AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. College level courses or degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science and or Physical Sciences, as well as laboratory experience would be helpful.
- Work duties include: following standard operating procedures and repetitive operations such as doing lab tests.
- Computer Skills: General knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Applications.
- Training needs for this position are listed in the Laboratory information Management System. Other training as needed, as well as annual training will be required.
- Daily work will be determined and assigned by supervisor.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with management.
