Chief Clinical Officer

  • MHC Healthcare is seeking a Chief Clinical Officer to join the executive team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) provides clinical leadership and oversight to Clinical and Behavioral Health Staff and develops and executes administrative and clinical operational functions of programs, teams, and services.

    MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

    The following qualifications are required:
    • Doctorate degree in Medicine, Family Practice, Behavioral Health, or Osteopathy
    • 5 years of clinical leadership experience
    • 5 years’ clinical practice experience in an outpatient setting
    • Board Certified in area of specialty
    • Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing with accepted healthcare plans
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
    • First Aid certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
    • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
    • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC)
    The following qualifications are preferred:
    • Experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC)
    • Experience with State Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) system, AHCCCS health plans, private insurance, educational procedures and laws, legal system, and community resources
    • Experience with adult and child services
    Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

    This position has the following supervisory responsibility
    Manages and monitors work performance of a division or department through direct reports and their teams, including evaluating work objectives and effectiveness, establishing broad organizational goals, and provisioning work and staffing assignments for the department.
    The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Thorough knowledge of employee law, OSHA standards, corporate compliance, HIPAA, JCAHO and other applicable laws and regulations.
    • Thorough knowledge of State, RBHA, ACC requirements, and MHC policies.
    • Thorough knowledge of current versions of DSM and ICD.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft applications and other commonly used business software.
    • Ability to make professional presentations, communicate in a variety of forums, and tailor communications to effectively educate or influence varying audiences.
    • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and produce quality results.
    • Ability to apply a variety of strategic frameworks to analyze problems and to guide and develop solutions.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, partners, suppliers, and customers.
    • Ability to cultivate a culture of respect and service excellence through professionalism, skilled communication, and demonstrated commitment to integrity, trust, respect, and equity.
    • Proven effective leadership with demonstrated ability to effectively direct, delegate, motivate, and build high-performing, collaborative teams.
    • Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions.
