PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the direction and operation of multiple units, branches, and programs of the organization with primary concern for program development, implementation, evaluation; staff recruitment, development, and evaluation; immediate supervisor for Director of Program Operation and Area Director; facility management; budget management, and capital improvements. Provides advice and guidance to management in the development and implementation of policies and practices that comply with all applicable regulations and are consistent with Boys & Girls Club mission and values.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
KEY ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership
· Oversee the implementation and delivery of operations, programs, services, and activities that facilitate achievement of youth development outcomes.
· Establish relationships with key individuals and organizations in each of our service communities. Individuals could include but not limited to mayor, city council, city manager, school superintendent, chamber CEO, police chief, major donors, and other community leaders.
Strategic Planning
· Through observation and collected data, evaluate overall program effectiveness based on participation and achievement of stated goals and associated youth development outcomes; recommend modifications to improve program performance, as appropriate.
· Working with the CEO and Board of Directors, determine potential growth opportunities to add additional facilities or program service locations to serve additional youth in Deep East Texas.
· Working with the CEO and Board of Directors to provide continual progress toward achieving goals established in the Strategic Plan for the organization.
Board Development
· Support Advisory and Board Committee as needed. Attend regular meetings, assist with recruitment of new members, and support advisory committee events by soliciting donations, selling tickets/tables, and providing event support.
Resource Management
· Coordinate agency budget development; monitor and report variances in revenues and expenditures.
· Manage administrative and operational processes, overseeing the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, and other facilities. With assistance of Area Director, prepare capital improvement budget.
· Manage performance of assigned Directors and other staff in achieving goals, providing technical assistance in program design, development, community relations and program operations.
· Work with Director of Program Operations to implement staff recruitment, development, on-boarding, safety, and training program Working with Development department to insure support for special events and grant opportunities, delivery, and evaluation.
Partnership Development
· Develop collaborative partnerships with other youth serving organizations, members, parents, families, and community organizations.
Marketing and Public Relations
· Participate in activities to build and maintain public trust in the Club and its programs.
· Join local civic groups to expand future opportunities for funding and services to benefit our clubs and programs.
