Chief Association Executive plans and directs all policies, objectives, and initiatives for an association, foundation, coalition, or other similar organization. Works with the Board of Directors to ensure all activities support the focus of the organization, including the development, promotion, and operations of the organization. Being a Chief Association Executive may serve as the spokesperson for and represent the association. May preside over board of directors/trustees. Additionally, Chief Association Executive may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a board of directors. The Association Aquatics Director, under the direction of the Executive Director, supports the Aquatics Program for the YMCA of the Georgia Sunbelt Association. THe Association Aquatics Director is expected to operate independently and work diligently towards the goals outlined by the assistance of the Executive Director.
3 or more years experience program area or related field or equivalent education/experience
3 or more years of supervisory experience; related experience including staff leadership and volunteer supervision, community program development, and financial management.
Broad knowledge of member services and proven experience in building communities within a family center structure.
Experience in setting high standards, motivating a team, seeks out personal development opportunities and ways to develop others with strong growth in programs.
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
Experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, gender, etc.)
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Operational Effectiveness
Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in aquatic programs and services.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with members, community leaders, organizations, partners, and volunteers. Creates and implements initiatives and member-led activities resulting in Y community engagement
Effectively communicates community benefit and the Y's impact for all stakeholders (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, and community leaders) develops positive working and collaborative relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities.
Ensure that safety and procedures are followed and that all aquatic programs comply with the YMCA of the Georgia Sunbelt standards, all regulations, and other applicable standards.
Manages assigned grants along with deliverables, tracking, and reporting
Mitigate risk in all functions associated with aquatics, training, performance, safety checks, and daily operations
Ensures that Risk Management procedures are followed and that all aquatic programs comply with YMCA of the Georgia Sunbelt standards, all regulations and other applicable standards
Hold Aquatics team accountable for achieving high levels to meet strategic goals, safety standards, program quality and association objectives.
Displays professional behavior to support Aquatic Association goals, values, and protocols at all times.
The Executive Director may from time to time, assign special tasks or projects that are outside of the Association Aquatics Director's normal job description or performance standards. The work likely is of an urgent or sensitive nature or is deemed to be of particular benefit as personal or career development.
