The New York State Association for Solid Waste Management (NYSASWM) is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization.
Generally, the Executive Director acts as the public face of NYSASWM, providing representation at events, working to increase membership, and acts as a liaison to advance the goals of the Association by clearly articulating the mission to the public, membership, and regulators, and promoting appropriate linkages with partner organizations, advocacy entities, and governmental entities.
NYSASWM hosts events for industry leaders and employees, including trainings and conferences. The Executive Director provides support, coordination of activities, administration management, organizational coordination, and engages in development activities to maximize impact of these events in a manner that optimizes results in relation to available resources.
Position Expectations & Experience:
The position is for a part-time, independent contractor. The Executive Director work is primarily remote, with participation required at on-site conferences/events typically held in March, May, and September.
The successful candidate will be highly organized; have experience in membership development and engagement, fundraising, and event coordination; be technologically capable; and able to work independently with direction from the Board or committee(s). Knowledge of the solid waste industry is preferred, but not required. Salary to be commensurate with experience.
