Chief Association Executive plans and directs all policies, objectives, and initiatives for an association, foundation, coalition, or other similar organization. Works with the Board of Directors to ensure all activities support the focus of the organization, including the development, promotion, and operations of the organization. Being a Chief Association Executive may serve as the spokesperson for and represent the association. May preside over board of directors/trustees. Additionally, Chief Association Executive may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a board of directors. Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Defines corporate vision and strategy establishes company direction and focus. Under general direction from the City Manager, the Airport Services Manager manages, supervises and coordinates the operations and maintenance of the Marina Municipal Airport; supervises assigned staff; coordinates activities with other City Departments and outside agencies; manages services and activities of the airport; participates in developing policies, procedures; participates in developing annual budget and program goals; ensures regulatory compliance; manages fiscal transactions and expenditures; provides administrative support to the Assistant City Manager, and performs related work as assigned.

Education, and Experience
Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Aeronautics, Aviation Business Administration, Aviation Environmental Science, or a related field.
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business management or a related field, or the equivalent, plus,
Experience: Two years of management experience in an airport environment, or in a highly responsible managerial role in a public agency, with two years’ experience as a supervisor.
OR
Four years of increasingly responsible management experience in a public agency; with two years experience as a supervisor.
