    We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join our team. The CFO is responsible for the organization's Financial functions, actively participates in strategic business plan objectives including financial planning and budget management, and carries out department expectations and business plan objectives. 


      

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and implement key performance indicators in collaboration with the CEO to support and propel the strategic business plan. 
    • Active participant in the development, execution, and promotion of the strategic direction of the Association.
    • Oversee strategic direction of the Accounting and Finance functions. Manage overall performance, ensuring all goals and deliverables are met.
    • Ensure proactive/effective coaching and development of staff. Actively factor succession planning strategies into staffing plans. 
    • Develop strategies to grow revenue and assets, increase profitability and efficiencies, and manage all aspects of balance sheet performance. 
    • Provide expertise and guidance regarding the financial position of the Association. Analyze trends, make recommendations, and provide reports to assist the Board of Directors. 
    • Oversee administration of investment portfolio to provide liquidity and safety, while optimizing earnings in accordance with established policies. 
    • Partner with senior leadership to develop an effective budget that supports strategic initiatives, association health, and effective use of resources. 
    • Annual external financial audit process and prepare financial statements and disclosures.
    • Chair of the Asset-Liability Committee (ALCO). Evaluate validity of interest rate risk (IRR) model.
    • Research, analyze and prepare complex reports on historical and forecasted financial.
    • Staff management including staffing, coaching, communication, performance, and meetings.
    • Represent OlyFed internally and externally, in a manner consistent with our values and culture.
    • Assist CEO with any special assignments, projects, and reports. And other duties as assigned. 

    Requirements

      

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and business ethics at all levels.
    • Thorough understanding of accounting, banking and loan regulations and Association policies and procedures with demonstrated ability to interpret and apply quickly and independently. 
    • Excellent public and customer relations skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, determine their needs, and maintain their confidence. 
    • Organization and flexibility to prioritize workload in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.
    • Utilize analytical techniques and exercise independent judgment to identify strategies to solve problems and complex customer needs. 
    • Detailed understanding of a financial institution’s general ledger and investment accounting.
    • Develop, read, and analyze financial reports, and gather, organize and compile numerical data into accurate, meaningful reports. Gather and scrutinize data to identify issues and trends.
    • Exercise customer confidentiality and discretionary judgment.
    • Read, write, speak, and understand English well.
    • Proficiency in basic computer programs with ability to learn new software. 
    • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable OlyFed Policies and Federal Regulations.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent experience and training in a related field.
    • CPA certification is preferred. 
    • 10 years' management accounting experience, 7 years at a financial institution preferred. 
    • Extensive knowledge of bank accounting procedures and functioning of a financial institution.

    Must be bondable. 


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:

    Duties are performed in usual office conditions. Ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer, standard keyboard, 10-key calculator and work a standard shift with repetitive wrist and hand movements. Ability to talk and hear. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Occasionally lift, move, or carry items up to 15 lbs. Ability to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions. Requires manual dexterity and handling ability. Use hands and arms to finger, handle, grab and reach. Specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve eyestrain due to constant use of computer screens. Occasional walking, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and bending. Ability to be mobile office-wide for various business needs. 


    Employees are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance and long-term disability. Voluntary benefit coverage includes life insurance, AD&D, legal, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and FSA. Options for family coverage are available. Employees can enroll in our company’s 401k plan. We offer immediately vested 5% 401k match, as well as profit sharing, and an annual incentive bonus. Full time employees will receive the following paid time off per month: 6.67 hours of vacation leave and 8 hours of sick leave. In addition, the following paid time off per year: 11 paid holidays; a float holiday; a birthday holiday; 24 wellness hours; 16 volunteer hours. Modified for part-time employees.
