Chief Association Executive plans and directs all policies, objectives, and initiatives for an association, foundation, coalition, or other similar organization. Works with the Board of Directors to ensure all activities support the focus of the organization, including the development, promotion, and operations of the organization. Being a Chief Association Executive may serve as the spokesperson for and represent the association. May preside over board of directors/trustees. Additionally, Chief Association Executive may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a board of directors. This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Association Support Director leads the development and operations of assigned program area. Acts as a resource to association program/branch teams to advance our core programs and strengthen our community.
1.Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent
2.Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
3.Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising
4.Prefer knowledge of and experience with diverse populations
5.Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
6.Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
7.Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA Cause & Culture, Child Abuse Prevention and SafetyTraining (provided by YMCA)
8.Program-specific certifications required & must be maintained
9.Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
1. Acts as program-area expert and leads the development of association-wide program operating plans that promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
2. Develops and implements data collection efforts, including participant, staff & volunteer evaluation. Uses data and research to establish and implement plans for the quality growth and development of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA strategy plan.
3. Collaborates to inform program budget recommendations and supports program area to ensure goals are achieved.
4. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
5. Assist with operation coverage in absence of department leadership prioritizing branches based on greatest need.
6. Represents and promotes the YMCA within the community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and/or governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies to advance the program association-wide.
7. Ensures compliance with program-specific regulations and standards, including safety and risk management policies and procedures.
8. Works collaboratively with association and branch teams to coordinate annual recruitment/onboarding/training plan, marketing efforts, collect impact stories, and assists in purchasing equipment.
9. Supports programming team in the development and execution of special events and activities, including annual support campaign activities.
10. Actively participates &/or leads department and association team meetings &/or trainings.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

It will be required that a candidate holds all of the program specific certifications related to aquatics (Lifeguard certification, YUSA Swim Lesson Instructor (or similar) and preferred certified pool operator certification.
