Chief CAT Scan Technologist oversees computer-assisted tomography and the maintenance of department supplies, equipment, and facilities to ensure the quality of services. Introduces and teaches new techniques to staff. Being a Chief CAT Scan Technologist maintains environmental, infection control, and safety procedures for the department. Typically requires an associate's degree. Additionally, Chief CAT Scan Technologist requires completion of radiologic technology training and American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration. Typically reports to a director. The Chief CAT Scan Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief CAT Scan Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the general direction of CT Department Coordinator, exercises initiative, sound judgment and discretion to coordinate procedures and activities of C.T. section. Is responsible for maintenance of quality procedures and patient care.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
A.R.R.T. registered in radiography required. CT Registry required within one year of position acceptance. (Beginning January 2003 Ohio Licensure Required
CPR Certification required
Must be computer literate to complete task(s) as required. Such as MediTech (Hospital Support Software), Halogen (performance appraisal system) Relias (education system), ability to retrieve e-mails, complete on line enrollment for health insurance/benefits and any other programs as assigned.
