Overview

The Radiology Chief Technologist performs administrative duties of supervision within the Bothwell Diagnostic Center and the Imaging departments of Truman Lake Clinic. The Radiology Chief Technologist is responsible for directing clinic activities, Imaging staff, and supporting staff within the Diagnostic Center and the Truman Lake Clinic. The Radiology Chief Technologist performs imaging procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. This individual is trained and capable of performing patient care for the age groups of 0 to 105 years old.

The Radiology Chief Technologist reports directly to the Director of Radiology

Responsibilities

1. In charge of overseeing the daily imaging operations, which includessupervising Mammography, X-Ray, and Dexa at the Diagnostic Center and Truman Lake Clinic, as well as Ultrasound at all locations. Manages and coordinates Woman’s Imaging projects, such as self-referral mammograms, diagnostic follow-ups, ultrasound follow-ups, and same-day results. Provides guidance and support to the Lead Mammographer and Truman Lake Mammographer in their respective roles, ensuring compliance with MQSA and ACR accreditation. Develops employee work schedules and ensures adequate coverage for all Diagnostic Center and Truman Lake Clinic shifts. Performs diagnostic imaging procedures as required.

2. Ensures the procurement and replenishment of supplies and assumes accountability for overseeing expenses.

3. Tasked with providing recommendations for resolving inter and intra-departmental issues. Accountable for upholding professionalism within the Diagnostic Center and TLC and facilitating professional communication among the Diagnostic Center, TLC, other departments, patients, and physicians’ offices.

4. Responsible for diagnostic equipment maintenance and calibration at the Diagnostic Center, the Truman Lake Clinic, and the Ultrasound department. Accountable for the preservation of image quality.

5. Makes budget, equipment and staffing recommendations to the Director of Radiology.

Qualifications

1. Education:  a.) High school graduate or equivalent.

2. Licensure/Certification:  a.) Entry level Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

3. Work Experience:  a.) 5 years’ experience in clinical setting is desirable.  b.) Multiple imaging modality work experience is desirable.

  c.)Mamo & Stereotactic Biopsy Experience
