Job Summary:

Plans, organizes and directs the provision of patient care services. Supervises department personnel and all functions including developing and maintaining nursing, and other assigned departments, service objectives, standards of care, policy and procedures, and educational services.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. Bachelor's degree in Nursing or other healthcare discipline required. Masters degree in Nursing or equivalent preferred.
• Personal Job-Related Skills: Advanced knowledge of nursing theories and practices. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills.
• Licensure, Registry or Certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas Board of Nursing. BLS required. CPI required.

Experience:

• Prior work experience: Five years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting and two years in a nursing managerial or supervisory role.

1. Technical Training: Training in electronic medical records (EMR), advanced personal computer skills, staffing patterns and patient acuity.
