    The Chief Medical Officer will be collaborating with other Executives of the hospital in regards to quality improvement development, motivation of leadership in medical staff, and ability to conduct meetings effectively. The Chief Medical Executive CME will need current knowledge of issues related to the hospital, clinics, and outpatient services including The Joint Commission, legal issues, and payers.

    The Chief Medical Officer will be developing data tools to evaluate clinical outcomes so understanding Healthcare Information Technology is required. The Chief Medical Executive should have experience with EMR implementations, training, and/or experience in Medical Management, Healthcare Law, and/or Quality Improvement with completion of physician executive leadership coursework and management skills training is expected.

    The Chief Medical Officer will be responsible for designing effective clinical practice patterns and Clinical protocols to decrease inappropriate utilization and enhance quality outcomes with current knowledge of hospital clinical quality, benchmarking, and best practices. The CMO will manage strategic planning, budgeting, management, and goal setting with familiarity with medical staff organization, credentialing, bylaws, rules, and regulations, regulatory and accreditation standards, and the issues and principles of healthcare laws and regulations.
