Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist directs the Diagnostic Imaging Department's operations including nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Supervises new testing procedures and related protocol. Being a Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist regulates the maintenance of departmental facilities, supplies, equipment, and material in a manner to promote health, comfort, and efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     M Health Fairview is looking for a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist at Fairview St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN. We are known for our award-winning heart, stroke and cancer care. Imaging Technologists deliver services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. St. John's offers 24/7 Imaging services to Inpatient Units and Emergency patients We have outpatient access seven days a week.

     

    The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

     

    Schedule: This is a .7FTE (56 hours worked per two weeks position). The shift length will be 8 hours, 

    11:00PM - 7:00AM (7on/7off) on the night shift.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    · Maintains knowledge of, and stays in sync with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.

    · Actively participates in crafting and implementing improvements.

    · Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures independently.

    · Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment.

    · Provides care appropriate to patients of all age groups, through appropriate communication with co-workers, patients, and other personnel.

    · Interprets appropriate data and information needed to identify each patients' needs.

    · Provides appropriate safety measures to assure radiation protection according to department and state guidelines.

    · Uses appropriate patient identification, acquiring pertinent clinical information, marking films, and appropriate technical techniques for imaging quality.

    · Evaluates completed radiographs regarding technique and positioning - make corrections when appropriate to maintain set standard per policy and procedure.


    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (before date of hire) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross

    Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1 year of experience as a technologist
