Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist directs the Diagnostic Imaging Department's operations including nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Supervises new testing procedures and related protocol. Being a Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist regulates the maintenance of departmental facilities, supplies, equipment, and material in a manner to promote health, comfort, and efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Services plans, organizes and directs the activities of Diagnostic Imaging Services at Providence St. Peter Hospital and assigned departments within Southwest Washington Region. The provision of safe, efficient, cost effective, quality imaging services is the focus of the departmental operations.

    Required qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree Business, Healthcare Administration, or Radiology.
    • Upon hire: Washington Radiologic Technologist
    • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Or
    • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or
    • Upon hire: National Certification from Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Or
    • Upon hire: National Certified MRI Technologist - American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists
    • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
    • Experience in the education of personnel management.
    • 2 years Supervisory capacity in a Radiology Department.

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Graduate of an ACR Certified Radiologic Technology Training Program, ARDMS Program or MNTCB.
    • Master's Degree
    • Completion of Providence Core Leader Development Program.
    • Upon hire: Lean certification
    • Upon hire: Lean Six Sigma certification
    • Upon hire: Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) through Association for Medical Imaging Management, and ACHE Mentor
    • 5 years Working in one or more of these positions: Radiologic Technologist, Nuclear Technologist, or Sonographer.
