Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist directs the Diagnostic Imaging Department's operations including nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Supervises new testing procedures and related protocol. Being a Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist regulates the maintenance of departmental facilities, supplies, equipment, and material in a manner to promote health, comfort, and efficiency. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Diagnostic Imaging Operations Technologist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Responsibilities

    This position is working as a Radiology Technician while enrolled in a Radiologic Technologist program and learning how to provide patients with highly technical radiological procedures.

    Qualifications

    This position requires State of Washington Registration as an X-Ray Technician; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology; strong organizational skills; a willingness to grow with technological changes occurring in the field; the ability to manage stressful situations appropriately; the ability to attend to multiple tasks and work independently; and the ability to be versatile, flexible and be able to lift 50 pounds. This position also requires a CPR license to be renewed every two years. A high school diploma or GED is required for this position.

     

    Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire.  This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health Compliance requirements.
