    POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Enrollment (DOE) is responsible for providing leadership and support for student recruitment and admissions functions for the College of Adult and Graduate Studies (CAGS). This position is responsible for training and mentoring activities associated with the development of the enrollment team. The DOE will work with enrollment personnel and senior leadership to execute the strategies and actions needed to achieve relevant enrollment goals.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervisory Responsibilities
    • Directly supervises and provides administrative leadership for the CAGS enrollment team, including lead contact specialists, enrollment counselors, and executive enrollment counselors.
    • Manages the day-to-day operations of the enrollment team. This includes managing schedules and paid time off.
    • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and retaining the best enrollment talent for MACU. The DOE facilitates the growth of the enrollment team through ongoing coaching and support in identifying their development opportunities and internal/external training resources and courses. The DOE plans, assigns, and directs workload, appraises performance, supports and challenges employees, addresses complaints, and resolves problems.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Oversees the lifecycle of all new or transfer student recruitment processes, starting from the prospective students' initial inquiry through their initial registration process.
    • Assists in the development and implementation of admission policies and practices that are consistent with the University's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
    • Effectively utilizes technology to support recruitment, communication, and enrollment programs and practices.
    Enrollment Goals
    • Monitors relevant reporting of enrollment team daily activities. Provides analytics to the AVP of Enrollment Management regarding team performance and goals.
    • Measures progress against the comprehensive and annual enrollment plan, evaluating the results of specific and ongoing enrollment. The DOE will work with the AVP of Enrollment Management to implement initiatives and strategies as well as adjustments to the plan as needed to ensure that the annual enrollment goals are met.
    Departmental Collaboration
    • Coordinates with university offices to recruit new students through a comprehensive institutional effort (Operations & Support Services, Student Services, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, Traditional Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, and Athletics).
    • Works with the Manager of Enrollment Operations, Director of Admission, and University Registrar to implement administrative policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of admissions and recruitment programs.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, current students, and alumni to coordinate and assure appropriate participation by these constituencies in student recruitment and retention.
    • Partners with the Executive Director of Community Engagement and Director of Admission to generate outside leads and recognition in the community.
    • Collaborates with the University’s marketing department on new student marketing and advertising initiatives. Communicates and coordinates with the marketing department for the preparation of printed materials and media used in recruiting efforts.
    • Works closely with university retention initiatives alongside the university’s retention committee. Serves as an advisor to the AVP of Enrollment Management and the Executive VP / Chief of Staff in developing and implementing student retention plans.
    Strategic Planning
    • Assists in directing strategic planning for the department and ensures that strategic objectives are achieved.
    • Informs and trains enrollment staff in achieving the University Strategic Plan.
    • Assists in the development and maintenance of the department’s annual budget and resource allocation.

    COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, Cloud-based dialers, Microsoft Internet Explorer software, and Google Suite (Email, Drives, Spreadsheets).
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Master's degree or equivalent; A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience and proven success in recruitment/enrollment management at the university level, including experience in the development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing and recruitment strategies or four to ten years related enrollment management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to evaluate staff performance and provide necessary training for improvement.
