SUMMARY:
Serves as Chief Financial Officer by performing the functions of planning, controlling, and directing the credit union's accounting and financial reporting systems, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and related regulations. Provides counsel to the President/CEO and Board of Directors regarding the credit union's internal accounting and financial reporting systems, policies, program and procedures. Conducts analyses and prepares regular reports that depict the financial status of the credit union. Serves as credit union Investment Officer. Provides prompt, professional and courteous support and assistance to internal departments, retail branches and members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages employees in the Finance Department and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
Maintains conservative, yet reliable records prepared on a timely basis, that fully address all aspects of the credit union's assets, liabilities, income, expense, and reserves. Ensures that the entire accounting and data processing system is maintained to conform to the requirements of the Federal Credit Union Act, State legislation as might be applicable, other Rules and Regulations and Financial Management Standards prescribed and/or recommended for the prudent financial management of the credit union.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A degree in Finance or Accounting Degree obtained from a recognized university, plus five (5) to ten (10) years' experience in a similar position at a bank, credit union, or savings and loan. An advanced degree or Certified Public Accountant license preferred. Equivalents in education and experience considered.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certified Public Accountant's (CPA) license preferred.
