Chief Financial Officer is responsible for developing an organization's overall financial policies. Provides strategic direction of all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Being a Chief Financial Officer ensures that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming with applicable laws and regulations. Requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Chief Financial Officer may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief executive officer (CEO) or chief operating officer (COO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization.   • The position functions as the Chief Financial Officer and Administrative Officer for the department responsible for the oversight and administration of all Department-wide activities relating to accounting, budget/appropriations, purchasing/contracts, federal cooperative agreements, and support to the National Guard during state declared emergencies. Reviews hiring requests and verifies FTE funding availability. Liaison for internal and external audit functions. Manages a variety of administrative functions for the department to include but not limited to travel, vehicles, IT, credit cards, equipment inventory, facility leases, printing and telecommunications.

    Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

    Experience
