Provides strategic direction of all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Being a Chief Financial Officer ensures that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming with applicable laws and regulations. Requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Chief Financial Officer may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief executive officer (CEO) or chief operating officer (COO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Our client, a Holding company is seeking an experienced CFO with a focus on strategic investment funding. The strategic CFO is experienced in Private Equity Real Estate and can deliver exceptional returns for its owners and investors while safeguarding loss. The ideal candidate has overseen commercial real estate finance prioritizing the needs of owners and investors while leveraging fundraising capital market relationships and investor relations within a GP/LP Promote and Waterfall Private Equity environment.
What You'll Do:
Attract, engage, and secure investors to maximize real estate funding opportunities
Build World Class lasting infrastructure that can generate high-level IRRs for investors
Support the CEO and leadership team in envisioning and implementing the company's strategic plans
Manage construction budgets and spending for development projects and acquisitions
Work closely with senior management to underwrite acquisitions and development projects, providing detailed financial analysis and recommendations
Build and manage strong banking relationships to ensure adequate financing for development projects and acquisitions
Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and reporting requirements
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies
Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and investors, ensuring effective communication and timely reporting
Prepare and deliver presentations to investors on real estate transactions and market trends
What You Bring:
10 years of experience in a similar role within commercial real estate finance
Existing relationships with the capital markets - equity and debt are a plus
Financial integrity to ensure all financial reports are prepared accurately and punctually
Private Equity / REIT Fund Management a plus
Extensive background in construction managing budgets and spending
Analytical acumen to effectively underwrite acquisitions and development projects
Historical success in establishing, nurturing, and maintaining client relations with banks, funders, and investors
Demonstrate engagement within a GP/LP model reporting/managing IRRs to investors
Strong knowledge of Yardi Voyager, or similar
Who You Are:
A funding / strategic CFO or Executive with a Capital Markets background (preferred)
Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, or related field - MBA a plus
An autonomous, outgoing, and strategic thinker
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Skilled in effectively balancing demanding priorities while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
Possess an unwavering degree of integrity and accountability
People-connector willing to travel monthly for meetings and events
