Chief Financial Officer is responsible for developing an organization's overall financial policies. Provides strategic direction of all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Being a Chief Financial Officer ensures that proper financial controls are in place and that financial transactions support the overall business strategy while conforming with applicable laws and regulations. Requires an advanced degree. Additionally, Chief Financial Officer may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief executive officer (CEO) or chief operating officer (COO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization.     We are looking for a CFO that will create the financial roadmap to take the company to the next level.  We are seeking a true team player that has significant transportation experience and can be a true partner to the CEO, President, and COO on the Executive Team. Their mission is to drive growth and leverage market opportunities while navigating complex operational and regulatory challenges.
    We are seeking a finance and accounting superstar that knows our industry and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to learn the business and provide innovative and creative solutions.  We would value a candidate that has experience in mergers and acquisitions and has some experience working in California.

    • $260,600 - $270,800 total compensation depending on experience and bonus results.
    • Medical Dental and Vision Insurance – Includes a health reimbursement account that pays first dollar for half of the deductible (unused balances can be rolled into the following year)

    • 401K program with company contribution up to 6% of salary

    Qualifications:
    Minimum:
    • Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines: Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • Ten years financial experience as Controller, VP Finance, Sr. Management role in mid to large size company.
    Preferred:
    • Ten years CFO experience
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree in a related field.
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
    • Family Business experience, accountable to Board of Directors.
    • Relevant Industry experience: Trucking, Transportation, Logistics, Agriculture.
    • Experience in non-finance related roles such as Operations, Sales, HR, or IT.
    Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
    • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems, their development, testing and implementation.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills. Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to effectively influence and build support for company initiatives.
    • Ability to think strategically, be collaborative and proactive.
    • Working knowledge of Fed State income tax, individual, corporate and partnership
    • Expertise in advanced cost accounting, preferably in a trucking, manufacturing environment.
    • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
    Purpose and Key Results:
    • Help develop the overall Annual Operating (AOP) plan, including the organization’s annual operating budget, CapEx budget, Risk management plan.
    • Translate the AOP into quantifiable metrics and financial projections.
    • Play an ongoing role in the critical evaluation, implementation, and execution of the AOP
    • Assist business executives in projecting the real-time financial impact of their decisions.
    • Support corporate strategy, vision, mission, values, and company direction.
    • Serve on the CEO’s Executive Team including the CEO, President, and COO,
    Responsibilities and Accountabilities
    • Responsible for developing organization's overall financial policies and procedures.
    • Supervises all financial/accounting activities to ensure that processes are accurate, timely, and contain adequate internal controls for annual CPA review.
    • Directs the preparation of all financial reports including income statements, balance sheets, reports to stakeholders, tax returns, and reports for governmental regulatory agencies.
    • Supervises investment of funds and manages cash flow. Manages banking relationships.
    • Analyzes company operations to identify opportunities and areas that need to be expanded, reorganized, downsized, or eliminated.
    • Develops and implements an annual Staff Development Plan for Finance personnel. Assess capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Mentor, coach and motivate high performers to acquire more responsibility. Create career path incentives and succession plans.
    • Supports the development and implementation of Strategic Business Plan.
    • Oversees the IT function and technology enhancements. Champion of ERP system.
    • Responsible for ensuring that Company benefits are competitive, cost sensitive, and reflective of our Family values.
    • Evaluates Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and processes and recommend changes to increase efficiency and expense reduction.
    • Studies long-range economic trends and evaluates company prospects for future growth and expansion opportunities. 
    • Become a trusted member of the CEO’s Executive Team and contribute to its mission of continuous improvement, effective teamwork, and accountability to Tiger Lines, LLC.
