Chief Flight Inspector inspects aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment, and parts to ensure safe flying and conformance to specifications and government regulations and procedures. Oversees part installation and inspects adjustments or modifications to existing parts. Being a Chief Flight Inspector performs preflight and post flight inspections identifying any breach of standards for safe flight. Requires a high school diploma, a flight inspector license. Additionally, Chief Flight Inspector typically reports to top management. The Chief Flight Inspector typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Chief Flight Inspector typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. We are anticipating another great construction season and are looking for experienced Construction Inspectors. If you want more than a job and are looking for a career with opportunities and a chance to be a leader, WSB is the place for you.
What You Will Do:
- You will be part of our Construction Services/Design Build Group and part of our Contract Administration team.
- Performing field observation/inspection,
- Material sampling and testing,
- Verify compliance with the plans and specifications,
- Prepare pay estimates, and produce project documentation for private, municipal, county, MnDOT and federal projects.
- Documentation will include daily diaries, quantity calculations and backup documentation, letters, memos and spreadsheets.
- You may also help with surveying, proposals, project budgets and schedules and may be involved in design-build, pavement management, or a variety of other technical related activities.
- Applicant must be willing to travel and perform assigned duties outside of the immediate Melissa, TX area.

What You Will Bring:
We are looking for individuals experienced in:
- Municipal, heavy civil roadway and bridge construction inspection who want to better themselves and want to be challenged.
- 10 years of construction inspection or related experience is required.
- Excellent technical, communication, organizational skills.
- Material testing experience as well as current TxDOT technical certifications are required. Qualified candidates should send a copy of your current DOT certification card when applying.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record are required.
- A two-year technical degree from an accredited school, or a degree from a four-year accredited college in a field related to civil engineering construction is a plus and will only increase your opportunities and growth.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
You must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Due to the physical nature of the work, you must be able to lift 50 lbs. – 75 lbs. periodically. You’re required to work with your hands, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. At times you may be working at or on uneven terrain, slopes, in confined spaces, or reinforced trenches.
