Seeking QA Chief Inspector / Repair Station. Compensation commensurate with experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The QA Chief Inspector will assist in assuring that all aircraft inspections and maintenance is completed and documented in accordance with the Repair Station Manual, customers' requirements, company procedures, and regulatory requirements, prior to releasing the product for return to service, with high standards of quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Prepares printed log entries as needed. Assures the proper execution of FAA forms and/or maintenance releases as required.
• Assists in maintaining a current technical publication product library, reviews maintenance records of work performed, and ensures proper handling of all aircraft permanent records.
• Ensures that files of all maintenance work performed by the Repair Station, including work order sheets, parts certifications (form 8130-3's, Certificate of Conformities, etc.), inspection checklists and aircraft permanent records, are maintained in good order and in accordance with applicable FARs, and the company Quality Control Manual.
• Ensures that periodic checks are performed on all company precision equipment, repair if needed, and maintain documenting records.
• Ensures proper execution of FAA Form 337, Major Repairs and Alterations, and participates in the determination of such, if required.
• Participates in receiving inspections as needed.
• Assists in performing Maintenance Department training and maintaining training records.
• Performs RII inspections in accordance with Quality Control Manual and customer requirements.
• Performs AD research on incoming aircraft.
• Assembles required inspections packages.
• Assists, supervises, and directs personnel assigned to the Quality Assurance department, with oversight of inspectors during work performed under CFR 145 Repair Station.
• Administers and supervises the quality assurance and inspection programs as required by FAR 145 regulations and the Repair Station Manual.
• Has final authority in the releasing to service of airframes, engines, propellers, appliances, and component parts.
• Responsible for revising the 145 Repair Station manual.
• Conducts quality assurance audits of 145 Repair Station, and Repair Station vendors/contractors as required.
• Provides oversight of Dominion Aviation's Training Program.
• Reviews ADs, SBs as required during inspection for proper compliance.
• Ensures the proper tagging and disposition of all parts and components.
• Performs surveillance audits in coordination with FAA personnel.
• Performs log research for Part 145 customer aircraft inspections.
• Assist Part 135 Director of Maintenance with conformity and logbook reviews.
• Assist Part 145 QA Manager.
• Cooperates in conduct with the Safety Management System and is instrumental with corrective action plans and preventative measures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES) FOR THIS POSITION

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is required.
• FAA IA required.
• Working knowledge of CFR 145, 135, 121 & 91 regulations.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and other industry specific software.
• Knowledge and familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, and practices, and equipment used in their area of responsibility.
• At least 5-7 years working experience as A&P mechanic with a 145/135 or 121 operation.
• Minimum 3 years in an Inspector or Lead role participating in aircraft inspection and tracking of status with a 145/135 or 121operation.
• Previous FAA Part 135, Part 121, or Part 145 experience required.
• CAMP/CMP tracking software experience preferred.
• Basic personal hand tools required.

• Must be able to work in and around an aviation hangar, and have knowledge of airport rules, including ramp and aircraft movement areas.  
• Working environment includes area of moving mechanical parts, equipment, and various chemicals and fumes. 
• Occasional to frequent periods of lifting, pushing, or pulling over 25 to 100 pounds; frequent continuous standing, reaching, and stooping. 
• Physical activity may require entering confined spaces.
