Chief Helicopter Pilot partners with general aviation management to establish and implement operating policies and procedures for helicopter pilots. Ensures flights are operated in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations. Being a Chief Helicopter Pilot schedules flight personnel, maintenance and maintains flight records. Assumes flight duty. Additionally, Chief Helicopter Pilot has all required licenses and meets flying time requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL(H). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Helicopter Pilot manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Helicopter Pilot typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Salary Range: $91,284 - $100,413 including 7% Geo Modifier

    15K Sign on Bonus
    40K Retention Bonus after 3 years

    7/7 Schedule

    Responsibilities
    • Working with a team of medical experts to safely transport customers to and from locations and facilities
    • Ensure aircraft readiness for flight dispatches as described in the appropriate manuals, including all FAR and Med-Trans requirements, and aircraft cleanliness duties
    • Maintain accurate MTC and regulatory documentation and record keeping
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with dispatch, flight crews, facilities, and partners
    • Provide shift change info to successive pilot and team following protocol for recording Med-Trans change board details
    • Accountable to maintain required certifications and ongoing training

    Minimum Requirements
    • Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
    • Helicopter instrument rating
    • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
    • 2,000 Total Flight Hours
    • 1,500 Helicopter Hours
    • 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
    • 1,000 Turbine Helicopter Hours
    • 200 Helicopter Night Flight Hours (Aided or Unaided)

    EC135 Experience Preferred
