Job Summary:The Chief Pilot will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and leadership of our Jet Access Crew Members to support the safety, regulatory compliance, service execution and growth of our P135 Charter Operations and talented Pilot community. There will be some flying in this role, but it will primarily be an active administrative position based in our Corporate HQ, working alongside Flight Operations, Sales, and Service departments to provide the best support to our Flight Crews and clients. Successful candidates will have prior experience in leadership roles with P135 Charter Operations, a People First leadership mentality and a drive to push people and our organization toward growth and future success. Core Schedule:
    • Variable office hours with some hybrid flexibility.
    • Approximately 5 flying days per month, as needed/scheduled.
    Compensation:
    • Base salary of $175,000.00 – 225,000.00 (annualized), depending on experience, paid bi-weekly.
    Day in the Life:
    • Ensures that flight scheduling, flight release, and client service requests are coordinated with aircraft maintenance requirements.
    • Monitors pilot and aircraft records to ensure compliance with company policy and the Federal Aviation Regulations.
    • Monitors crew scheduling to ensure that all flights are flown by technically competent and legally qualified crewmembers.
    • Maintains communications with client representatives regarding day-to-day aviation operational matters.
    • Coordinates pilot training requirements and proficiency matters with the Director of Operations.
    • Ensures compliance of crewmember flight and duty records.
    • Maintains proficiency as a flight crew member and conducts, as appropriate, pilot flight evaluations and line checks.
    • Monitors monthly, quarterly, and annual aircraft data reports to evaluate efficiency of operating procedures.
    • Develops and maintains aircraft weight and balance procedures. Coordinates ordering and ensuring compliance of vendor weight and balance templates.
    • Monitors the qualifications of supplemental aircraft and crews as fungible assets to ensure that operational standards are maintained.
    • The Chief Pilot may exercise operational control over all flights. He may initiate, conduct, terminate or divert a flight for the company.
    • Will additionally serve as relief or occasional flight crew member to serve alongside and evaluate Crew Members in reporting chain.
    • Lead, develop, and support the growth and performance of Jet Access Crew Members and administrative staff.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.
    Must haves:
    • Prior Chief Pilot or Director of Operations in a Part 135 Operation.
    • Currently reside in, or willing to relocate to, greater Indianapolis, IN area.

    • 3 Years experience as a Pilot in Command of a 121 or 135 operated aircraft.
    • Prior experience leading a group of at least 25 or more pilots.

    • The Chief Pilot will be qualified through training, experience and expertise and, to the extent of his responsibilities, have a full understanding of the operation with respect to: aviation standards and safe operating practices, 14 CFR Chapter 1, Operations Specification, maintenance and airworthiness requirements, and the manual required by 14 CFR Part 135.21.
    • 5,000 Hours Total Flying Time
    • 3,000 Hours Total Pilot-In-Command (PIC) Time
    • ATP Qualified
    • Thorough knowledge of FAA, ICAO, & other international flight operations regulations.
    • Strong organizational skills & advanced multi-tasking abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal/written and presentation skills are necessary to perform job at the expected level.
    • Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, email and web-based and/or mobile device applications.
    • Must possess a passionate attention to detail and the ability to work in a team atmosphere.
    • Present a well-groomed appearance at all times.
    • Valid state driver’s license
    • Must successfully pass background check and drug test.
    • Ability to read and respond to E-Mail communications.
