    Responsibilities

    Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:

    • Manage and supervise the IT department, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff members.
    • Manage and lead a team of IT professionals, including hiring, training, and performance management.
    • Develop and execute strategic plans for the organization's technology systems.
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare information systems.
    • Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to ensure technology solutions align with business goals.
    • Manage the organization's IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
    • Ability to act with a sense of urgency and manage multiple tasks and requests. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work with minimal direction/ supervision. Fosters strong relationships hospital wide in meeting their Human Resource needs internally and externally.
    • Excellent team building skills with ability to create a positive work environment.
    • Evaluate and make recommendations on new technology investments to enhance patient care and improve operational efficiency.
    • Implement and enforce data security protocols to safeguard patient information and comply with regulatory requirements.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of healthcare IT advancements.
    • Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of all systems, networks, and data.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to staff members and end-users.
    • Monitor and evaluate IT performance and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    • Have a creative vision with a deep understanding of supporting a positive culture throughout the Mahaska Health Facility.

    • Oversee the development and implementation of IT strategies and initiatives to support the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of our IT systems, networks, and data through the implementation of proper controls and policies.
    • Stay abreast of the latest IT trends and technologies and make recommendations for their adoption and integration into our systems and processes.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers to ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues and the delivery of high-quality IT services.
    • Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Attend meetings, as requested.
    • All other duties as assigned or requested.

    Qualifications

    Requirements include but are not limited to:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in information technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and operations, including servers, networks, and cybersecurity.
    • Strong knowledge of healthcare technology systems, including EHR, revenue cycle management, and telehealth platforms
    • Proven track record of successful technology implementations within a healthcare setting
    • Proven ability to develop and implement IT strategies to support business goals.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges
    • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with the skills to inspire and motivate a diverse team of IT professionals
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • In-depth understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and data security standard.
    • Must adhere to all training requirements as mandated by Federal, State, and Professional licensure and regulatory standards.
    • Understand and comply with the requirements of MHP’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, all supporting policies for compliance, and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
    • Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Practice policy and as requested by the supervisor.
    • Consistently support the Compliance Program through personal example; the provision of day-to-day instruction and correction to employees regarding compliance-related issues; application of appropriate discipline as required for compliance violations; and ongoing monitoring of activities and work product in areas of responsibility with respect to compliance-related issues.
