NATURE OF WORK: The Information Technology Director is responsible for leading the Information Technology Department of FMH. The Director of IT will set the direction for the management of information technology throughout the organization, including collaborating with senior leadership on setting the overall strategy, developing the network infrastructure and platform to deliver services, develop and maintain cyber security framework, maintenance of business relationships with vendors, budget setting and budget to actual tracking, project delivery, and security monitoring to ensure compliance. The Director collaborates with leaders to develop and execute a strategy to ensure a technical infrastructure that can grow with the company’s needs. The Director will need to stay current on technological advances and set the direction for their team including the structure for efficiency, effectiveness, security, and disaster recovery.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Manage information technology and computer systems by planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the operations of information systems and electronic data processing. Ensures all security standards are reviewed regularly and deficiencies are remediated, including security training for current and new staff. Develops, implements, and maintains processes and procedures departmentally and hospital wide to ensure the delivery of reliable, highly available, and secure network communications, storage, and computing resources. Financial management of department and computer system functions. Prepares the department capital and operating budgets. Communicates and consults regularly with other IT staff to ensure operational requirements, quality, productivity and functional efficiency and accuracy are being met. Develops strong professional relationships with physicians, administrators, peer managers, supervisors, staff and vendors to ensure key stakeholders, business partners and customers are aligned. Provides Information Systems leadership and guidance to support Managers in all activities required to carry out the strategic and long-range plans in an efficient and effective manner. Ensures the reliable operation of production-based computing systems which support clinical and/or business operations. Troubleshoots IT system implementation issues and demonstrates the ability to drive to a successful resolution. Stays current on IT practices. Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access. Meet with senior leadership and management to develop and implement new technologies as they become available and necessary for operational success. Develops a strategy to ensure IT Applications and Infrastructure can grow with the Company needs, including data security, network infrastructure, server infrastructure and storage. Develops operation and maintenance plans including production support. Maintain departmental compliance with all applicable accreditation standards, as well as all applicable federal, state and local statutes, ordinances, laws, rules and regulations. Ensure that all department staff members maintain compliance with all hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to interact with staff, physicians, visitors, consultants, and vendors in a helpful and positive manner. Serves in the on-call rotation with other IT staff for after hours assistance ensuing seamless operations when necessary for coverage. Management of quality improvement and assurance activities. Demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the hospital’s mission, vision and values as well as service excellence standards while completing all tasks and responsibilities. Adheres to the organizational leadership profile.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field; Or, Expert Level Certification in one of the core system areas. Work experience: A minimum of five years of demonstrated expert level skills and knowledge in the following core system areas: Microsoft Server operating systems, Network infrastructure, virtual servers (VMware), storage management, VOIP telephone systems, software application systems, system security, and system interfaces. In-depth network experience required, including routers and firewalls. Skills: Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of NextGen and Medhost Enterprise EHR, and Medhost EDIS EHR systems preferred. In-depth technical and/or administrative understanding of the following: Networking, MS Windows, MS Windows Server, Microsoft 365, MS SQL Server, SQL, HL7 Interfaces, JavaScript, Active Directory, Windows Group Policy, and Powershell.
