Commercial Lending Compliance Officer - Temporary

  • This position will be responsible for conducting quality control reviews of commercial loan files for regulatory compliance as part of the first line of defense. Areas of focus include Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Regulation B), Fair Credit Reporting Act (Regulation V), CRA, HMDA and Flood Insurance.

    This position may operate from other locations as opposed to the primary work location that is listed. When fully up to speed on systems and responsibilities, this could potentially be modified to a flexible work arrangement.


    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with Compliance Department to develop and maintain effective controls for compliance with regulatory laws and regulations applicable to commercial lending
    • Maintain working knowledge and act as a subject matter expert of flood insurance compliance requirements. Conduct timely QC reviews of commercial loan files for adequate flood insurance
    • Oversight of adverse action notices and administration of the Adverse Action database / record keeping
    • Collaborate with lenders and loan administration to understand compliance deficiencies and manage corrective action
    • Perform quality control reviews and reporting of CRA and HMDA data
    • Act as primary point of contact for all internal audits involving commercial lending compliance
    • Ensure required delivery of appraisal reports to customer per regulations
    • Ensure on-going system coding integrity and provide quarterly reporting for identified regulatory reporting elements (e.g. HVCRE, RC-3 Memo items, Higher Risk C&I and Leveraged Loans);
    • Demonstrate exceptional ability to think creatively and strategically in order to understand business issues and link results to overall organizational effectiveness

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience; supplemented by training courses in banking operations, federal and state compliance rules and regulations;
    • At least 3 - 5 years' experience in an applicable risk management environment with an emphasis on Commercial Lending compliance or its equivalent financial institution examination experience at the federal or state level;
    • Experience working with general regulatory compliance functions;
    • Ability to advise on technical requirements of applicable laws and regulations;
    • Monitoring. testing, or Audit experience related to regulatory compliance;
    • Completion of courses, seminars, and workshops on related and applicable topics;
    • Expertise in developing and executing risk based compliance monitoring and reporting programs, with emphasis on risk assessments, methodologies and monitoring programs.
