The Chief Mortgage Banking Officer (CMBO) manages and oversees the origination and closing of all residential mortgage loans, ensuring all loans meet bank and investor standards as applicable. This includes all residential mortgage loans sold on the secondary market, as well as portfolio loans. This position will work closely with the Chief Credit Officer on the underwriting and the Chief Operations Officer on the processing of all mortgage loans. The Chief Mortgage Banking Officer directly recruits and manages the mortgage loan officers. This position will establish goals for mortgage and home equity loan production, along with fee income for gain on sale, while indirectly motivating mortgage production through the retail branch network (setting goals, utilizing technology, tracking volume, etc.). The Chief Mortgage Banking Officer reports directly to the President of National Bank of Commerce and is a member of the Bank’s Leadership Team. Assures compliance with all bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
