Town of Longmeadow is seeking a full-time experienced professional librarian to manage a full range of programming, outreach, information, and collection management services at Storrs Library.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain and foster cooperative and courteous working relationships with the public, peers, and supervisors.
The primary focus of this position is to develop and promote library programming, resources, and services to meet the programming needs of adults in our community.
This candidate will seek and build outreach opportunities and possess the ability to serve as a liaison between the library and the community while developing and maintaining viable community partnerships.
Program development includes marketing and implementation. Other responsibilities may include (but not limited to) website maintenance, collection development, providing assistance with technology related hardware and peripheral devices, assist with troubleshooting technical equipment;
prepare social media posts; and reference and circulation duties.
This Full-Time position consists of 36.25 hours per week. The desired schedule includes two evenings and rotational Saturdays.
Essential qualifications include a MLS from an ALA-accredited program, 1-3 years’ experience with automated library systems such as Evergreen Integrated Library Systems, PC Applications / Google Suite;
knowledge of library policies, practices and procedures; and excellent planning and communications skills.
Salary range $49,955-$67,745 DOE / DOQ; Excellent benefits.
