Chief Medical Officer directs the staff and develops policies for the organization's clinical programs. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief Medical Officer oversees the implementation of quality improvement efforts designed to improve clinical performance and maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations and standards. Evaluates developments and innovations in medical care and makes recommendations for new practices and procedures. Additionally, Chief Medical Officer advises CEO and medical teams on matters impacting patient care. Requires a MD. Requires State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to top management. The Chief Medical Officer manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.   • The Chief Medical Officer is responsible for providing physician representation, liaison, advice, and consultation to the Senior Management Team of the hospital. The CMO participates in the development of the organization’s strategic plan, goals, and objectives, and administration of policies and procedures to ensure a comprehensive team approach to efficient, cost-effective care delivery.

    What You'll Do:

    • Oversees Mammoth Hospital’s medical staff services function and clinics operations, assuring excellence in clinical operations and compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
    • Earns the respect of peers and colleagues through professional achievement and fairness.
    • Plays a key leadership role in the improvement in physician alignment and satisfaction.
    • Is the conduit between practicing physicians and the leadership team. Builds effective and influential relationships throughout Mammoth Hospital and Clinics and ensures that physician leaders are being developed, engaged and aligned in achieving the organization's strategic objectives.
    • Works in partnership with multiple constituents throughout an organization. This includes achieving consensus through presentations, thought leadership, partnership and relationship building throughout Mammoth Hospital and Clinics.
    • Establishes a reputation as a respected clinician and leader. Clinical and leadership stature must be such as to establish respect, credibility, and effective peer relationships with clinical chairs.

    What You'll Need:

    • Medical degree or DO with an active State of California Medical license required.
    • Preferred clinical specialties: Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine
    • Five or more years of medical practice and two years' experience in medical administration in an acute care hospital
    • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.

    Job Information:

    • 0.5 FTE Administrative with up to 0.4 FTE Clinical in practice
