Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides administrative oversight for the nuclear medical technology department of a hospital. Reviews, develops and implements technical policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Being a Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist supervises nuclear medicine technologists, and may perform the functions of a technologist as needed. Ensures proper usage, maintenance and updates of medical equipment. Additionally, Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist requires a bachelor's degree. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification. Typically requires Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification. Typically reports to a director. The Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary and Qualifications

    Under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Physician, prepares, calibrates, logs and administers radioactive isotopes to patients undergoing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures. Operates Gamma Camera Imaging equipment, computers and other isotope sensitive equipment to obtain a visual representation or measurement of isotope concentrations in specific body areas/organs. This position requires providing care/service to a critically ill through rehabilitating pediatric through geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Osceola regional Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with core values. The employee shall support HCA Florida Osceola Hospital's strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

    What qualifications you will need:

    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
    • Florida State License Nuclear Medicine required
    • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB) or ARRT (N)
