Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist provides administrative oversight for the nuclear medical technology department of a hospital. Reviews, develops and implements technical policies and procedures to ensure efficiency, quality and compliance with all regulatory requirements. Being a Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist supervises nuclear medicine technologists, and may perform the functions of a technologist as needed. Ensures proper usage, maintenance and updates of medical equipment. Additionally, Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist requires a bachelor's degree. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification. Typically requires Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Certification. Typically reports to a director. The Chief Nuclear Medicine Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. MOFFITT CANCER CENTER FACULTY POSITION: NUCLEAR RADIOLOGIST/NUCLEAR MEDICINE PHYSICIAN
Moffitt Cancer Center’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology invites applications for a faculty appointment in the Nuclear Medicine Department. Our preferred candidate is an academically accomplished nuclear radiologist/nuclear medicine physician for a leadership position in our large and growing section which includes both diagnostic and therapeutic responsibilities.
Moffitt’s Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Interventional Radiology currently includes 60 clinical faculty members. The department operates 11 CT, 14 MRI, 5 PET/CT, 4 SPECT/CT, 5 gamma cameras, along with a robust radionuclide therapy program. Faculty members from the section participate in 17 disease-focused multidisciplinary clinical conferences each week. We are a hybrid academic practice affiliated with the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine with university academic appointments available. A large number of research and teaching opportunities are available. All investigator-initiated clinical trials at Moffitt include a radiologist as co-investigator. The Imaging Research program receives about $7 million per year in NIH funding and includes 1400 sq. ft. of wet lab space, a full animal imaging suite, and sophisticated image analytic and mathematical modeling capabilities. Dedicated academic time is provided and PhD-level scientists are employed by the department to assist the clinical faculty in their research efforts.
Applicants must have an M.D./D.O. Degree, a Florida medical license or be eligible for one, and board certified in Nuclear Radiology/Nuclear Medicine.
