Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. The CRNA will be responsible for administering intravenous, inhalation, regional and other anesthetics during surgical procedures, deliveries and other medical procedures under the medical direction of an Anesthesiologist (or physician) according to established procedures, professional standards and professional judgment.
