Chief Nurse Anesthetist manages and schedules Nurse Anesthetists who plan, arrange and secure necessary anesthesia equipment. Aids Anesthesiologist in organizing courses of instruction for students, and partakes in resulting programs and demonstrations. Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     We seek a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide procedural sedation. The CRNA will be an integral part of the team ensuring patient safety and creating the patient experience. This position will be paid hourly for one to two days per week with shifts of approximately 4-8 hours with the possibility of increasing hours as we expand patient volume. The right CRNA for this position will have the highest standards for patient safety, be motivated to create a positive patient experience, and strongly support a person's right to control their own body.

     

    Duties:

    • Providing analgesia and anesthesia for procedures, primarily with moderate and deep sedation
    • Maintaining the highest level of patient-centered care
    • Evaluating patients prior to anesthesia                 
    • Performing appropriate monitoring throughout procedures
    • Participating and assisting in team emergency drills, trainings, and meetings
    • Performing routine checks on equipment, medications, and other supplies, and alerting staff, as needed
    • Communicating effectively with all members of patient-care team

     

    Qualifications:

    • Completion of an accredited CRNA program
    • Three or more years of experience providing outpatient procedural sedation and/or obstetric anesthesia
    • Appropriate professional certifications and licensure
    • Strong commitment to bodily autonomy
    • Commitment to improving patient experience of care
    • Bilingual a plus!
