Chief Nurse Anesthetist manages and schedules Nurse Anesthetists who plan, arrange and secure necessary anesthesia equipment. Aids Anesthesiologist in organizing courses of instruction for students, and partakes in resulting programs and demonstrations. Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Sexual Assault/Harassment Victim Advocate

  • Duties

    The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Vandenberg Space Force Base is searching for a Sexual Assault/Harassment Victim Advocate (NH-0101-02, GS 5/11 Equivalent).

    Description:
    Serves as an installation Sexual Assault/Sexual Harassment Victim Advocate. Provides a wide range of essential support and advocacy services, liaison services, and care to victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment in accordance with generally accepted procedures and techniques. Assists victims of sexual assault/sexual harassment in their effort towards the process of recovery, through advocacy and resource information. Under the supervision of the Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC), performs duties which include, but are not limited to, crisis intervention, safety planning, referral, ongoing non-clinical support, and furnishing information on available options and resources to assist victims in making informed decisions regarding reporting options and care. Conducts assessments of individuals to determine required needs and evaluates safety and levels of risks; provides emotional support, guidance, and advice to victims in crisis while addressing the individual's needs and desires. The Victim Advocate provides victims with a complete explanation of reporting options and follows DoD and DAF guidelines addressing confidential disclosure and privacy. Possesses an extensive knowledge of professional and non-professional services and support available and informs victims of referral services available on the installation as well as in the surrounding community. Maintains contacts with agencies that provide such services and remains knowledgeable of their confidentiality policies and the procedures for accessing services of these agencies. Safeguards documents in their possession and all information pertaining to victims' sexual assault/sexual harassment, always mindful of the victims' right to confidentiality. Ensures SARC is kept abreast of victims' case status.

    The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in social science field or social work field of study.

    Key Skills and Abilities:
    1. Knowledge of a wide range of social science and social work principles, concepts, and practices relating to victim advocacy and prevention of and response to sexual assault/sexual harassment.
    2. Knowledge of laws, regulations, executive orders, issues, etc., to include the Air Force organizational structure, management policies, methods, and practices relating to sexual assault/sexual harassment victim advocacy, and related interpersonal violence.
    3. Knowledge of social service delivery systems, methods, and theories relating to victim advocacy, sexual assault/sexual harassment
    4. Knowledge of training and education techniques to implement and deliver sexual assault/sexual harassment training.
    5. Skill in applying tact and diplomacy during interactions with internal and external officials during difficult and sensitive circumstances and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and individuals to identify, establish, modify and provide victim support/assistance.

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or an on-call status.
    • Employee will be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for TDYs or conferences relevant to sexual assault/sexual harassment.
    • This position requires a high degree of discretion in relation to sensitive information of which the incumbent is aware.
    • This position has been identified as a position of public trust IAW DOD policy. Minimum of a Tier 3 background investigation must be conducted every 5 years IAW the OPM requirement.
    • Must obtain and maintain DoD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification and recertification from the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA), as specified in DoD and AF policy.
    • The work requires the employee to drive a POV/GOV. An appropriate, valid driver’s license is required for this position.
    • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
    • Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
    • This position is eligible for telework. Employee must reside within commuting distance of worksite.
    • PCS and Incentives are not authorized.
    • This position is not eligible for remote or telework.
