Chief Nurse Anesthetist manages and schedules Nurse Anesthetists who plan, arrange and secure necessary anesthesia equipment. Aids Anesthesiologist in organizing courses of instruction for students, and partakes in resulting programs and demonstrations. Being a Chief Nurse Anesthetist prepares reports and compiles data dealing with specific anesthesia, drugs and techniques, and patients' reactions to them. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Chief Nurse Anesthetist requires Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Nurse Anesthetist typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Job Duties:
Administer anesthesia under the medical direction of Anesthesiologists.
Perform pre-anesthetic assessments and develop anesthesia care plans.
Monitor patients during surgical procedures and adjust anesthesia as needed.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the anesthesia process.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
Requirements:
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Medical Direction from Anesthesiologist.
Ability to start immediately upon credentialing.
Experience working in a fast-paced medical environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Information:
OT will be applied after a 40-hour work week, not after an 8-hour day.
3 shift minimum/week (will schedule 8-12 hour days dependent on scheduled procedures); flexible scheduling is ok, but need to be available every week. No week on/week off or piecemeal schedules.
Ongoing availability (6 months preferred) is required.
Providers may be required to work at our satellite facility which is 15 minutes from main location for some shifts.
