Position Title: Chief Operating Officer
Status: Exempt - Executive
Reports To: President/Chief Executive Officer
Overall Responsibility:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) functions as a key member of the Bosma Enterprises Executive Leadership Team which, under the direction and approval of the President/CEO and the Board of Directors, is responsible for setting the agency vision and direction, establishing case statements, budgets, and strategic planning documents to determine the key objectives and activities for the company and any related implementation to achieve the goals and objectives defined throughout this process. In the absence of the CEO and Executive Vice President, the COO will be empowered to make any appropriate decisions needed, provided that the commitment does not exceed given Board Authority.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of the COO position consist primarily of, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plans, directs, manages, and evaluates the supervised departments in accordance with the strategic plan of the organization, including but not limited to operating within Bosma’s broad agency objectives and capabilities, consideration of sales goals, outreach strategies, and broad agency objectives
- Directs development of supervised departments’ teams, plans, strategies, policies, and work procedures
- Develops internal processes and measures efficiencies.
- Establishes internal controls.
- Ensures compliance with all Bosma Enterprises’ policies and procedures
- Responsible for the appropriate budgeting of departmental revenues and expenses as may be applicable
- Directs day to day operational activities to ensure adherence to budget, goals, and objectives.
- Identifies revenue enhancement and/or cost savings opportunities
- Measures progress against goals and keeps the rest of the ELT and the Board of Directors informed of performance
- Ensures compliance with contractual obligations, including but not limited to contracts with vendors and customers and contracts with related entities (ex. United Way, INARF, NIB)
- Directs the review and evaluation of activities to assure compliance to local, state, and federal laws, accreditation standards, and positive consumer outcomes
- Ensures that policies and procedures for all supervised departments are developed and implemented according to industry standards and best practices
- Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned by the CEO
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Graduate degree preferred
- 15 years of progressive management, operations, and administrative leadership experience. Education may be considered in lieu of job-related experience
- Experience with governmental/legislative affairs required; knowledge of the AbilityOne program preferred
- Experience with blindness and visual impairment an asset

- Must have Database management experience Salesforce preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
