    POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for the management of Red Wind Casino information systems, through the selection, implementation and maintenance of the appropriate software and hardware. Establishes and directs the strategic long-term goals, policies and procedures for the IT department. Determines the organization’s long-term systems needs and hardware acquisitions to accomplish the casino’s future goals.

     JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations of Information Technology. This individual will plan, direct, coordinate and provide direction to subordinate administrators, as well as assist subordinate administrators in their daily duties. The IT Director will work closely with managers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. Direct department Team Members through subordinate supervisors in the development and implementation of all department projects and responsibilities. Analyze and resolve or recommends solutions to complex or unusual guest service problems and issues. This person will also work closely with the Executive Director team with defining and implementing IT policies, procedures, best practices, and any applicable regulations. Responsible for ensuring efficient maintenance and performance of company wide network systems, supervision of IT Administrators.

    QUALIFICATIONS


    Required skills and knowledge:

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field of study.
    • Must have five (5) years networking experience installing and managing Windows network software and using the latest technology to plan, design and implement LANs and WANs.
    • Five (5) years infrastructure management experience is required.
    • Experience in Class II/III gaming network environment.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to safeguard confidential information.
    • Ability to lead and mentor a team.
    • Possess excellent decision-making skills.
    • Must have knowledge of proper procedures for working in and around regulated and secure operational areas.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to keep current knowledge of new technologies.
    • Excellent guest service skills.
    • Certifications with Microsoft Networking, including Current Windows OS and Active Directory (MCSE/MCSA). Cisco certifications as applicable.
    • Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
    • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to obtain a Class Ill Gaming License. Preferred skills and knowledge:
    • Master's degree in related field of study.
    • Familiar with the hospitality industry and change management.
    • IT related certifications. For example: CompTIA, CCNA/CCA, CISSP (cybersecurity certification preferred).

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and move from area to area.
    • Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
    • Ability to tolerate smoke-filled environments.
    • Manual and finger dexterity for computer use.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB:

    • Report to the General Manager to maintain and plan technical business services.
    • Work on large and small projects of diverse scopes: responsible for planning and implementing all projects, implementing or act as resource for firm level projects, and symmetrically reporting the status of all projects and recommendation to the General Manager.
    • Lead IT Department operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, and organizing and negotiation the allocation of resources.
    • Benchmark, analyze, report on, and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the IT infrastructure and IT systems.
    • Manage financial aspects of the IT Department, including purchasing, budgeting, and budget review.
    • Develop and implement all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, service provision and request for proposal.
    • Implements and maintains all control systems and continually reviews departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
    • Attend to regulatory incident reports and audits by ensuring timely responses, development of action plans and implementation of corrective action.
    • Foster and facilitate collaborative inter-department work relationships that result in highly productive project results.
    • Manage the development, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Oversee provisions of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
    • Direct research on potential technology solutions, vendors, pricing and review contract terms in support of procurement efforts.
    • Keep current with the latest technologies.
    • Strategically identify competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of the Company.
    • Communicates regularly with department heads to exchange ideas and to improve the effectiveness of the computer systems.
    • Responsible for organizing and prioritizing system enhancements to implement changes in the most efficient manner.
    • Responsible for developing and managing the casino’s MIS disaster recovery policies and procedures.
    • Develops production schedules, systems backups and physical security to ensure the proper operation of all business computer systems and communications for the property.
    • Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
    • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
    • Identify Team Member development and training needs and ensure that training is obtained.
    • Maintain records, prepares reports, and compose correspondence.
    • Assist General Manager in developing technical services that meet the ever changing needs of the organization.
    • Responsible to document works, and reports or coordinates efforts with partners, management, and other team members
    • Ensure the integrity of the internal and external network.
    • Communicate information about network changes, issues and problems through proper channels to appropriate personnel.
    • Ensure system backups on internal and external network servers are performed as required by operational standards and regulation.
    • Submit written reports to General Manager regarding integrity issues and other reporting as assigned.
    • Train end-users where needed and/or directed.
    • Responsible for Guest Service training and facilitating the Guest Service Policy.
    • Succession planning to meet tribal training priorities by contributing to the development and implementation of tribal training within the areas that the position oversees.
    • Serve as a member of appropriate committees and prepares reports and other support material.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
