FlyUSA seeks a highly skilled Chief Pilot for our Part 91/135 operations. The ideal candidate will possess substantial domestic and international flight operations experience, a strong understanding of Part 91 & 135 regulations, and a commitment to uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience in Hawker 800 and/or Citation Ultra aircraft.
Position Summary:
The Chief Pilot will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and leadership of our FlyUSA Crew Members to support the safety, regulatory compliance, service execution, and growth of our Part 135 Charter Operations and talented Pilot community. There will be some flying in this role and an active administrative position based in our Corporate HQ, working alongside Flight Operations, Sales, and Service departments to provide the best support to our Flight Crews and clients. Successful candidates will have prior experience in leadership roles with Part 135 Charter Operations, a People First leadership mentality, and a drive to push people and our organization toward future growth.
Responsibilities:-
Provide leadership and strategic direction for all flight operations.

Ensure compliance with Part 91 & 135 regulations, company policies, and safety standards.

Lead & manage a team of pilots, fostering a culture of excellence, integrity & customer service.

Perform flight duties on qualified aircraft.
- Develop and implement operational procedures & strategies to optimize efficiency, safety, and department growth.

Coordinate with the Maintenance and Scheduling departments to ensure planned inspections, mechanical repairs and necessary maintenance on our fleet are performed in a timely manner.

Organize and oversee pilot training and development, including scheduling initial and recurrent training per fleet policies and safety standards.

Verify that all company and contract pilots are compliant with Federal Aviation Regulations.

Support HR in the interviewing, recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of new pilots.
- Ensure aircraft documents, checklists, publications, and databases are current and up to date.

Maintain accurate reporting and record-keeping practices.
- Supervise flight planning, aircraft performance, and resource allocation for optimal operations.
Requirements:-
Prior Chief Pilot or Director of Operations in a Part 135 Operation.

3 Years’ experience as Pilot in Command of a Part 121 or 135-operated aircraft.

Prior experience leading a group of at least 25 or more pilots.

Thorough knowledge of FAA, ICAO, & other international flight operations regulations.

Possess a valid Airline Transport Pilot certificate.

Substantial experience as corporate/charter pilot.

In-depth knowledge of Part 91 and Part 135 regulations and their application.

Minimum 5,000 hours total time.
Preferred Qualifications:-
Type ratings in HS-125 or Citation Ultra (preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field (preferred).

Resides or willing to relocate within a 1-hour driving distance of Clearwater, FL.
