Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) provides leadership and management of pilots, schedules, and records to maintain efficient and safe flight operations, comply with all FAA regulations, and deliver operational performance on company goals. Maintains the required FAA records and documentation for certifications, crews, flight times, aircraft, and activity. Being a Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) keeps informed about current aviation developments and regulations that impact flight operations. Coordinates pilot training and development plans to ensure all are ready for flight duty. Additionally, Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) uses the Safety Management System (SMS) to identify, mitigate, and manage risk in operations. May require a bachelor's degree. Requires Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate. Requires FAA Commercial Pilot's License. Typically reports to a director or head of a unit/department. The Chief Pilot (Jet Fleet) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Responsible for the operation and manual setup/changeovers of multi-color sheet fed or high speed continuous/web presses.
Perform a complete effective set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, etc.
Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size and construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance to ensure a quality product to customer as required. Understands all press controls and demonstrates their use. Maintains the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrates the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.
Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience: 18 years old and eligible to work in the USA; 2 years manufacturing/printing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: HS/GED
Experience: 2 years printing press experience; familiar with Lean principles. Knowledge of printing process and in usage.
Basic math, reading and computer skills. Strong communication skills.
