Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The ideal Rad Tech is energetic, eager to learn, has a positive attitude and above all else, has a passion for patient care! The Rad Tech will also be responsible for performing blood draws, taking vital signs, inputting medical histories, administering medication injections and vaccines as well as assisting providers in medical procedures.     Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Follow prescribed safety standards in operating all required radiologic equipment Experience with positioning patients and x-ray equipment to achieve desired diagnostic image Knowledge and experience with appropriate shielding protocols Prepare patients for examination, taking vital signs and history, and provides treatment as applicable Performs blood draws and administers medication injections and vaccines. Prepares exam/treatment rooms; select, setup, sterilize, and maintain medical supplies and equipment for procedures Select length and intensity of radiation exposure on individual patient basis or to specification of examination Use of CR and DR systems Examine images for properties such as density, contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion Send and store images  Perform other duties as assigned Requirements and Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program required Certification/License: Current state Radiologic Technologist licensure.  Current BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
