Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Job Summary:
The primary function of the Radiology Technologist is to perform quality diagnostic x-ray exams to all patient populations of the hospital. X-ray exams are done in the X-ray Department, portably through-out the facility and in the OR. The Radiology Technologist must also be proficient in using PACS and CR systems.
The Radiology Technologist will also be asked to lift, assist and transport patients, perform data entry for exam tracking and patient charging and other departmental duties as assigned.
