Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Radiologic Technologist/CT Technologist (PRN- Flexible Schedule)

  • The Radiologic/CT Technologist will be responsible for performing radiographic & CT examinations, positioning the patient and equipment in an appropriate manner and selecting radiographic technique, ALARA. This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination required.

    Key Position Accountabilities:

    1. Identify each patient and review each patient's requisition for consistency of examination ordered, clinical diagnosis and all demographic information.
    2. Assess patient condition, ensure patient safety through proper use of restraint/support devices under supervision of Director.
    3. Review each examination for technical accuracy, present completed examination to Director, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of patient following the procedure.
    4. Identify anatomical orientation on all required images and ensure proper film identification on all images.
    5. Coordinate radiographic examination to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care and assist with the management of the work flow of the department to ensure the completion of the work assignments in the absence of the Director.
    6. Document correctly and accurately patient information to ensure the quality of patient care.
    7. Demonstrate competency and proficiency in radiation protection, protecting self and other personnel during all radiologic examinations, and shields patients properly.
    8. Demonstrate ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician's orders.
    9. Report all safety hazards that could harm patients, visitors or other hospital employees to the Director immediately.
    10. Keep Director informed of any unusual concerns, situations or conditions relative to staff, patients and physicians.
    11. Attends in-services as required, as documented by sign-in sheets.
    12. Performs other related duties as requested.

    Education/Licensure:

    • Graduate of a program in Radiologic Technology
    • Passed ARRT examination earning the credentials of a Registered Radiologic Technologist RT (R)
    • Valid Radiologic Technologist License by the state of Arkansas
    • Trained CT Technologist preferred but must be willing to cross train for CT

    Special Requirements:

    Occasional exposure to ionizing radiation. Requires standing, lifting and walking regularly during the shift. Occasional exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
