Chief Radiologic Technologist oversees radiologic services, maintains technical aspects of radiologic safety and evaluates accuracy and quality of X-rays. Schedules work assignments and coordinates requests for radiologic services. Being a Chief Radiologic Technologist recommends new equipment, equipment modification, and crucial construction within the department. May perform duties of radiologic technologist as needed. Additionally, Chief Radiologic Technologist requires an associate degree in radiology. Requires American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - (R). Typically requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager or director. The Chief Radiologic Technologist manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Radiologic Technologist typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Your Role With Us:Radiologic Technologist - State Street Imaging ServicesSalem Health's State Street Imaging Department is located within the Salem Health Orthopedic Clinic. This position will provide care to outpatient orthopedic patients.Primary Functions:Demonstrate the ability to use problem solving skills to reach independent decisions, tailoring exams to the patient's condition and level of cooperation as necessary. Select appropriate radiation exposure factors according to body area, body habitus, and patient condition. Use skills to obtain diagnostic quality images consistently while minimizing radiation exposure to patient. Produce thorough exam documentation on a consistent basis. Demonstrate competency in the operation of Imaging equipment by following safe operating procedures as recommended by original equipment manufacturer.
