    Under the director of the Hendrick Health Chief Medical Officer, the Hendrick Health Assistant Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) will work collaboratively with Medical Staff Services, the Quality department, and the Chief Strategy Officer in overseeing hospital-based operations to ensure exceptional patient care throughout the system. The ACMO plays a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, driving clinical excellence and fostering a positive work environment for the medical staff.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum Education
      • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
    • Minimum Work Experience
      • 5 years of experience in Medical Staff leadership roles
    • Required Licenses/Certifications
      • Licensed physician in the state of Texas

    REPORTING STRUCTURE

      • Clinical Leadership, Quality Improvement, Strategic Planning, Regulatory Compliance, Collaboration and Communication, Financial Management, and Professional Development

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
    • Collaborates with various departments to integrate care and streamline patient services
    • Provides guidance in clinical matters; specifically in physician review and performance improvement
    • Provides guidance in Code of Conduct and Physician Health issues
    • Provides mentorship and leadership to medical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
    • Stays abreast of the latest medical research, technologies and healthcare trends
    • Contributes to strategic planning and decision-making processes to enhance overall healthcare delivery
    • Collaborates with CSXO in the development of patient-centered technology
    • Assists in identifying and implementing quality improvement metrics and projects to advance patient care
    • Attends the following meetings (not all inclusive): Meetings related to Peer Review, Performance Improvement, Credentialing, Physician Health and Rehabilitation and MEC. Will work collaboratively with respective departments in developing agendas. Will work collaboratively with committee chairs and members in facilitating the operations of the meetings, providing leadership and mentorship to the committee members
    • Works collaboratively with Chief of Staff and Vice-Chief of Staff.
    • Works collaboratively with Medical Staff Services to:
      • ensure that staff are credentialed, educated and performing to the highest standards
      • Assists in developing and implementing Medical Staff Policies and Procedures
      • Plays an integral part in the review and implementation of Bylaws (bylaws, rules/regulations, policies, privilege forms and procedures)
      • Assists in the development and review of privilege forms
      • Assists in the process of development of criteria for new privileges
      • Works collaboratively with MSS to ensure adequate unreferred ER Call Coverage
    • Works collaboratively with the Quality department leadership, focusing on patient safety, quality improvement, and compliance with healthcare regulations.  The ACMO assists with the following:
      • Assists with the development and maintenance of OPPE/FPPE
      • Assists in the review and disposition of RLs (Event reviews)
      • Attends the following Quality meetings: Performance Improvement, Joint Quality Committee, Peer Review and Quality Council
      • Assists with the review of reappointment quality data
      • Assists with ad hoc review and trends
    • Represents the organization in various community forums.
    • Demonstrates ethics and integrity at all times to establish the expectations that direct and indirect reports do the same. Ensures trust by communicating openly with others and sharing feedback in a constructive fashion.
    • Assesses and recognizes personal strengths, opportunities for improvement, and pursues continual self-development.
    • Reacts positively and proactively to key developments in area of expertise that may affect business operations.
    • Develops processes to engage employees in achieving the objectives of Hendrick Health System; provides continual feedback and empowers employees to provide input on decision making and planning processes.
