Qualifications

SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES

1. Responsible for the Enterprise’s financial/accounting systems and associated internal controls, assuring that such systems meet or exceed the requirements defined by the applicable Federal, State and Tribal laws, rules, and regulations, including the IGRA, IRS, NIGC MICS, ND Compact, and the Standing Rock Gaming Ordinance.
2. This responsibility includes that the accounting records are maintained, and financial statements are prepared according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and to the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) when applicable.
3. Responsibilities encompass the maintenance of the books of account; maintenance of the Enterprise's bank accounts; Enterprise cash management; preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports, preparation of the annual Enterprise budget; the processing and payment of payroll and accounts payable, billing and receipt of accounts receivable; daily audits of the casino (slots, table games and cage) and food/beverage, convenience store, Lodge, gift shop, marina, Guest Service revenues;  administering the Enterprise’s property and liability insurance, purchasing functions, casino drop/count and preparation/filing of information in conformity with the applicable regulatory agencies.  
4. Coordinate all financial audits/examines, including the annual audits conducted by an independent auditing firm and the associated filings of the audit reports.
5. Maintaining Back Accounts and relationships with banks, trusts and lenders by providing all required reporting.
6. Accountable for the Finance Department staff planning and administration, including the staffing level, hiring, training, disciplining, and performance appraisals of the Finance Department staff.
7. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately.
8. Responsible for any other projects/tasks necessary to protect the financial integrity of the Enterprise and other responsibilities and projects as required by the General Manager.

PREREQUISITES                                                                                                                    

General: Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Primary Gaming License.

Education: Four-year business or accounting degree required. CPA and/or MBA preferred. Strong mathematical, analytical, and oral/written communication skills required.  Must be able to communicate effectively in the primary languages used in the workplace.

Experience:   Minimum of five years casino/corporate accounting experience with minimum of two years of direct supervisory experience of a financial/accounting departmental staff responsible for all accounting responsibilities. Computer literate with a strong knowledge of WORD and EXCEL.  10 key by touch and data entry skills. Speed and accuracy required.
