We have an immediate need for a Production Assistant Chief Engineer in our New Castle, IN facility. An excellent benefits package is offered.

Position: Assistant Chief Engineer

Reports To: Chief Engineer

Direct reports: Project Engineers

Qualifications: Good understanding of processes and equipment within a JIT manufacturing environment. Knowledge & Ability to monitor, maintain, & improve production systems. Good written, verbal, organizational, interpersonal & leadership skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interaction with vendors, customer, and the R&D team for various activities.
• Assist technical staff in trouble shooting and maintaining all production equipment.
• Assist with project budgeting, design & development of new equipment, verifying the equipment specifications meets the internal requirements in relation to productivity & safety.
• Review current facility equipment needs and make recommendations to management concerning upgrades/capital improvements.
• Responsible for making decision and supporting technical staff for all industrial systems within the plant.
• Evaluate current processes and make recommendations for process improvement.
• Responsible for creating schedules for equipment installs & equipment upgrades.
• Develop appropriate contingency plans to address future issues.
• Support development of 5S, TPM and Kaizen programs.
• Ensure safe operations of all equipment.
• Have the ability to establish and execute a monthly plan.
• Must execute action items per the annual business plan to help achieve section key metrics (downtime reduction, cost reduction).
• Requires the ability apply extensive knowledge of manufacturing & engineering processes.
• All other duties as assigned.
