Duties and Responsibilities:
The Radiology Technologist contributes to organizational effectiveness by reporting for duty on time, adhering to Center policies/standards and completing related duties in an effective efficient manner. These duties include but are not limited to:

Ability to perform all radiology functions according to Center policies and procedures

Ability to demonstrate appropriate sterile and aseptic technique

Ability to manage radiology equipment in the operating rooms during a surgical procedure in a manner that assures maintenance of the sterile field

Knowledge of, and ability to, disinfect and clean all radiology equipment
-
Ability to operate all radiology equipment used in the Center
-
Ability to prioritize and have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
-
Ability to work effectively in stressful situations
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision
-
Ability to work with others within a team environment
-
Loading and operation of washer-sterilizers, dryers, ultrasonic cleaners and sterilizers
-
Adherence to standards of practice/infection control for department and operating room
-
Works in a spirit of teamwork and trust; conducts self in professional manner and maintains professional boundaries in working with others

Acts in a way that is respectful to patients, families, and co-workers at all times

Other duties as assigned by OR Clinical or supervisor on duty

Works to achieve and maintain regulatory certification and accreditation of the Center.

Maintains dress and appearance according to the Center dress code.

Diffuses/resolves conflict by appropriately communicating with those involved.

Accepts constructive criticism and gives suggestions in a professional manner.

Maintains all required certifications
Education, Experience, Licensure/certification requirements:
-
Graduate of an accredited training program. A.A.R.T. Certification required
-
Minimum two years radiology technologist experience required. Experience with special procedures preferred

Successful completion of BCLS
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

Normal hospital environment with exposure to chemical odors, cleaning solvents, and other hazardous materials.

Exposure to possible injury when working with electrical equipment and lasers which requires care and following proper safety procedures.
