Chief of Surgery jobs in Oakland, CA
Chief of Surgery directs the staff and programs of the surgical department. Works closely with hospital staff, department directors, and physicians to ensure that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained. Being a Chief of Surgery requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. Additionally, Chief of Surgery require extensive clinical experience. Typically reports to top management. The Chief of Surgery manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. Busy oral surgery practice seeking a full or part time oral surgery assistant. The successful candidate must be organized, energetic, motivated, positive attitude with good work ethic and ability to work in busy, demanding environment.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in general anesthesia, local procedures and consultations.
- Monitoring and recovery of patients.
- Taking x-rays and CT scans.
- Sterilize instruments/ set up surgical trays.
- Discuss pre and post operative care.
- Review patient medical history, obtain vital signs and xrays.Prefer experience assisting in oral surgery but will consider training the right candidate.
